Restaurant Review: Mozate
Yesterday happened to be my hubby's cuzins' b'day and she treated us at Mozate, Bandra (W)... I wanted to visit this restaurant since long as I had heard a lot about their Khaw Suey.... Being a big fan of Khaw Suey since I have tasted it at Joss (kalaghoda) I was eager to try it there..... Soups were pretty tasty, I settled for a Mongolian soup, it was yummy... 1 of our friend ordered 3 mushroom soup that was delicious too....The startes included cottage cheese (quite soft and melting) and their steamed promfet in Lachow (i hope i have the spelling right here) was awesome.. .It was yummy and loaded with a sauce of caramalized onions.... really tasty.... But, i was still waiting for the mains....khaw suey.... anyways, then finally came the mains and I decided to go for a vegetarian khaw suey... Well, it was nice but I would still give Joss' more points.... Overall experience - good (on a scale of 5, I would say 3) .... ambience - 3.5, service - 3.5..... Will I go there again - well, y not!

Restaurant Review: Ram Ashray, Matunga Station
Hey I want to share my eating experience at Ram Ashray - Near Matunga Station, Mumbai... Very simple south indian food... but so yummy and delicious... They have very few things on the menu and I with 5 of my cuzins ordered each of the dishes available... I am glad to write, all of them were super delicious .... Anyone wanting to have super south indian food in matunga.. do visit Ram Ashray or Madras Cafe.... Even Mysore Cafe is yummy....
The heat wave continues
I know it is really disappointing to wait till I start writing about my experiments with food..... It has been about 15 days that I havent tried anything new and will have to wait more till the rains cool off this part of the globe a little.... The heat is driving me nuts.... Baking and cooking are really tough unless you have a kitchen equipped with an air conditioner that will help you cool off the nerves while you do your job..... Hopefully a week or two and I shall be back into my kitchen making different varieties of food and posting my experiences here.... Really waiting for that

Indian Summers
Yes m tempted to write on Indian summers cos they are so difficult to deal with! Hear this - due to the high temperatures and scorching sun, my visit to the market 2 weeks back made me feel dehydrated and exhausted. upon reaching home i did a great mistake - I had lime water with 4 cubes of ice :( Its been 15 days, but my suffering continues.... It started with throat irritation, sore throat, cough, 2 visits to my doctor that left my taste buds dead and completely dead!
Due to the heavy medication my mouth is so bitter that I just feel like eating something yummy... but the taste remains in the mouth only as long as the food lasts.... This is putting me under severe stress cos I am in no mood to try out anything new or make anything... but at the same time i m binging on all possible junk... spicy food... that can do some good to my mouth!
Hope the next week will reactivate my tastebuds and make me perfect to make & eat some good food!
Have a lovely weekend!

Hi
Hey.. I m going to write in this blog... all about food!
The word 'food' gets me salivating like a bull dog... Though I must admit that its the senses that work before the taste buds!
M really disappointed with the quality of food you get in restaurants these days ... dont know about other cities, but bombay, it sucks!
Being from the field of gastronomy I have experimented with several ingredients and food stuff... failed several times, but learnt a lot of lessons....
Many people have guided me in my journey so far... starting from my mom who gave me the basic training in the kitchen.... It was my priviledge that she made me start with making rotis when i was in grade 4.... may be 9 years...... some benefits of having a working mother ..... taking things in your own hand in the kitchen! From the things that i cannot forget in my earlier days was one incident when i was frying pakodas (made from gram flour and spices with onion) and I put them wrongly in the frying pan.... The hot oil came on to my face with about 15 blisters from my forehead to my stomach..... Well, I did look very ugly for a few months, but that never happened ever again....
Though I will admit that burns and cuts did become a part of my life.... My quest for making good food and eating good food only went on increasing...
So, I thought instead of keeping my thoughts within, it would be great to share them on a platform like this... Better late than never!
Hope you enjoy reading... I promise I shall make it as delicious as possible!
